She has held leadership positions in Unilever, Citibank, Heineken, Fraser & Neave and Aspial - leading significant global and operational teams thus well placed to blend her strategic business and brand capabilities with strong operational hands-on leadership experience and execution. She works with organisations to deliver sustainable change through talent management having led multiple restructures and start-up structures.

Mr Choe Peng Sum is Chief Executive Officer of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, a member of Singapore-listed UOL Group, one of Asia’s most established hotel and property companies. He oversees nearly 50 properties with more than 15,000 keys across 30 cities in Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America. Mr Choe has more than 33 years’ experience in the hospitality industry managing and developing hotels and serviced apartments worldwide, and was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality International Ltd. During his 22-year tenure, he grew the portfolio from two properties in Singapore in 1998 to more than 140 properties across more 76 cities worldwide. His last appointment was Senior Advisor to Frasers Property Limited.

As CEO of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Mr Choe is responsible for the expansion of the Group’s hotels and serviced apartments under its Pan Pacific, PARKROYAL COLLECTION and PARKROYAL brands. He is in charge of their performance, operations, marketing and brand standards, as well as the business development of the hotels and serviced suites.

Mr Choe started his hospitality career with Westin and subsequently Shangri-La International in 1981, where he was awarded the Shangri-La overseas scholarship. He graduated from Cornell University (Ithaca, New York) with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction. He was awarded the National Dean’s List (USA) as well as the Phi Kappa Phi for academic excellence.

In Episode 3, Wong Mei Wai and Laura Cozijnsen examines opportunities arising from COVID-19 and will discuss the Change Insider approach to remain on the pulse of Change to identify, evaluate, embrace and implement new business opportunities - with emotional capital and capabilities. They will also share the types of leadership styles which would best enable leaders to navigate and seize new opportunities through the challenging times.

Debankur Das, our Regional COVID-19 Research Lead from Acorn Marketing & Research Consultants will present the new wave of COVID-19 Research -“What happened, what’s transient, and what’s here to stay?” across 12 markets and identify megatrends - differentiating the more permanent trends with the transient ones. They will discuss the specific change in the new ecosystems that have and will give rise to new business opportunities (and threats) as businesses moving from containment to recovery in the newer normal.

She is the founder of media and communications firm Lighthouse Consultant Ltd., and has won numerous industry accolades in publicity and campaign management, her firm attained ISO 9001 quality certification in 2018.

Prior to that, in the capacity of Director of Distribution, Laura headed the South East Asia marketing and public relations function at media company STAR Group Limited, under News Corporation.

Laura is highly sought-after for delivering management training programmes for corporate and government clients, as well as in the academic field for global institutions such as the Masters Programme for The University of Hong Kong and many others.

Laura holds an Executive Masters from INSEAD in Consulting and Coaching For Change and is trained in Appreciative Inquiry and Action Learning. She loves books, coffee and is a dog lover.
